MOVIN’ ON………. After nine years at Chelsea Square, Brick City Cross Stitch is moving up the street to the Blockbuster Plaza. Located at 2750 E. Silver Springs Blvd (Suite 203), it is in close proximity to the public library, and you won’t have a problem finding it. You can still find me at the present location until the end of September. Watch for some really great sales. September you will find an I DON’T WANT TO MOVE IT SALE!! Find all kinds of items on sale from 10-60% off- - -patterns, notions and fabric. Help me lighten my load for moving ,and we will have room for lots of new things at the new store. Sunday, September 24, will be a moving party. We will try to get all of the ‘little’ stuff to the new shop and let the movers bring all the big stuff on Monday. Lunch will be provided for all of the helpers with a special “Thank You”. Sign up at the store if you are able to help at the moving party. For those of you who believe you have more talents, there will be painting and cleaning parties, picture hanging and lots more fun (?). I know everyone wants to help make this the best cross stitch shop in Central Florida. EVENTS August brings a Trunk Show by Glory Bee Designs. Come in and see designs by Nancy at Glory Bee and take home a free pattern called Noel, which I have stitched with one of the new DMC hand-dyed threads. Two patterns that will help you recall your many friends are “Shopping” and “Priceless” (an afternoon stitching with friends!!). “Trick or Treat” has black cats and spiders. That’s what Halloween is all about isn’t it” Two winter designs will make you smile “In the Meadow” we can build a snowman and “Dear Santa-define good”. In these hot days of summer you can stitch up the Margarita and take it salted or unsalted, and if you are daring enough, add the worm button! September we will have models from Glendon Place. I have been stitching the ghosts on Monet fabric from Picture this Plus. Hope I get it finished in time. You can stop by the shop and see the progress. Glendon Place is a Florida based designer, just down I-75 near Tampa. So, let’s support our local designers by coming in and checking out her designs (she is lending me models of her patterns and I hear they are magnificent!)
Stitching Retreat October 13-15th will be the third annual stitching retreat hosted by Brick City Cross Stitch at Silver River State Park. Five cabins have been rented for the enjoyment of young and old, new stitchers and experienced ones to enjoy hours of friendship and stitching. We will host our own needle art show with ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, so bring a treasured stitched art work to display for the weekend. We will work on a stitching notebook during the weekend to learn new and not difficult stitches that you can carry with you and expand your stitching horizon with newer patterns. For those of you who would just like to learn the new stitches, join us from 10am-5pm on Saturday. $20 covers the cost of supplies and a light lunch. W e will be sleeping four to a cabin. $175 covers the cost of the weekend including meals and materials for the stitching notebook. Sign up for Friday night’s pot luck supper with a favorite dish or dessert. A $50 deposit will hold your reservation until the balance is due September 15th. There are only three openings left for this fun-filled weekend. Don’t miss the fun that all of the campers had last year!
Silly Sundays continue in August on August 6 and 20 from 1-5pm. As always there will be a 50% off table. Don’t be surprised with the items on it, remember, I’m trying to lower the inventory so I don’t have to move too many boxes!! We are at the shop from 1-5pm. Bring your stitching and plan to have fun with this great group!
